Indiana Pacers Ticket Information

The Indiana Pacers began playing professional basketball as a member of the ABA, joining the league for the 1967-68 season. The ABA years were very kind to the Pacers. In nine seasons, Indiana reached five finals, and won three of them in a four-year span. The NBA wasn’t as easy for Indiana. It would be four years before the Pacers reached their first NBA playoffs, then another five years between their first and second appearances. Starting with the 1989-1990 season, the Pacers endured nearly two decades of success at the NBA level. With future Hall-of-Fame shooting guard Reggie Miller coming into his own after joining the league two seasons earlier, the Pacers made their third NBA playoffs in 1990. In 1994 Indiana won its first playoff series in the NBA, besting the Orlando Magic, then the Atlanta Hawks. The 2000 season marked the first time the Pacers reached the NBA Finals, though they would fall to the Los Angeles Lakers. At the end of the 2000s Indiana scuffled and missed the playoffs for four straight years, but today they are again a team to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. Indiana has retired the numbers of four players. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Indiana Pacers basketball tickets.

2014 Pacers Season Preview

Most of the roster stayed the same for a team that went to the Eastern Conference Finals and shocked many by putting up a good fight against the Miami Heat. Danny Granger played in only a handful of games in 2012-13 Season and his inclusion for a full season will be a big help in nailing down an even better seed in the playoffs. Paul George was a big reason behind the success of last season, as well as big man Roy Hibbert and George Hill. Luis Scola was brought in to back up David West, and the Pacers look to have a solid all-around team going into the 2013-14 season.

The first game of the season will be at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Nov. 2 against Cleveland, before heading to Detroit on Nov. 5. Other key home games will include a rematch against the Heat on Dec. 10, vs. Houston and new big man Dwight Howard on Dec. 20, and vs. a new-look Brooklyn team on Dec. 28.

Indiana Pacers Rivals

Pacers vs. Knicks

An argument could be made that this was the best rivalry in the NBA during the 1990s. The Pacers and the Knicks met six times in the playoffs from 1993-2000 including three Eastern Conference Finals. The rivalry was often bitter and the feud between “Knick Killer” Reggie Miller and super fan Spike Lee only heightened this hostile match-up.

Pacers vs. Pistons

The rivalry between the Pacers and the Pistons extends far more than the action on the court. In 2004, nine players were suspended for a total of 146 games after a massive brawl broke out between the Detroit fans and players when Indiana’s Ron Artest was hit by a drink thrown from the stands. The Associated Press labeled the fight as the “most infamous brawl in NBA history” and it has been nicknamed “Malice at the Palace”. On the court, the rivalry peaked in 2004 when Indiana and Detroit met in the 2004 Eastern Conference Finals.

During the 1990s, this rivalry was considered one of the better match-ups in the NBA as the Pacers and Bulls were often near the top of the standings in the Eastern Conference. With Reggie Miller playing for Indiana and Michael Jordan for Chicago, the star-studded squad was always must watch. The epic 7-game showdown in the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals was the highlight of this entertaining rivalry.

While this rivalry has been on standby for some time, NBA fans have seen a rekindling of this game's competitive nature with the emergence of LeBron James and Paul George. Likely favorites to met in the Eastern Conference Finals every year, the Pacers Heat game always puts forth an offensive show whether in the playoffs or in the regular season.

Pacers in the NBA Finals, Eastern Conference Championships and NBA Playoffs

The highlight of the Pacers came during the Reggie Miller era. Miller played his entire 18-year career with Indiana and led the Pacers to multiple division titles and an Eastern Conference championship. The Pacers organization seems to be on the upswing again with a roster full of young talent.

Indiana Pacers Event Guide

What time do gates open prior to tipoff at a Pacers game?

Gates at Bankers Life Fieldhouse typically open to the general public 90 minutes before game time. Indiana has some of the most devoted basketball fans and BLF is one of the best venues in basketball. We recommend using that full 90 minutes to enjoy watching the pre-game warm-ups and taking in the ambiance surrounding the Indiana Pacers.

Where are good places to eat before a Pacers game?

Some of Indianapolis’s best sports bars are within walking distance of Bankers Life Fieldhouse. We recommend trying The Pub Indianapolis, Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, or Kilroy’s Bar and Grill. If you prefer a fine dining experience, try St. Elmo’s Steakhouse. St. Elmo’s is an Indianapolis landmark, first opening their doors in 1902, and their food has received national attention. Pizza lovers should check out Bazbeaux Pizza. It is a hip place that serves all kinds of gourmet pizza that will not disappoint. Black Market and Scotty’s Brewhouse are two other trendier places that are perfect for foodies and down to earth diners.

Where is the best place to park at Bankers Life Fieldhouse?

Although there are not many spaces connected to Bankers Life Fieldhouse, there are plenty of parking options in the area. We recommend looking directly to the east of the arena. There are a couple good garages just south of Washington St. and others at the intersection of E Ohio Street and N Illinois Street. Amtrak offers public transportation that drops off within a few blocks of the arena for fans that do not want to drive to the game.

Does my child need a ticket to go to a Pacers game?

All children over 24 months old will require a ticket to enter Bankers Life Fieldhouse. If you child is under 24 months they may enter without a ticket and are allowed to sit on a parents lap for the duration of the game. It is recommended that you bring proof of your Child’s age with you to avoid any last minute hassles at the gate.

Pacers Game This was my first experience buying tickets with Ticketcity, and at first I was getting frusterated. I was trying to place my order online and kept getting an error message. So as the error message instructed I called the 1-800 number and was patched through to Trey. He was awesome at finding me tickets together and within my price range. He also made sure to find me the best seat for my money. We lost the game but it was a fun evening! April 30, 2014
