2010-2011 Boston Celtics NBA Preview:
The Boston Celtics proved many skeptics wrong when they returned to the NBA Finals last season. Despite losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in a grueling seven game series, the Big Three - Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett - proved they can still play with the best in the league.
If there’s anything the Celtics' playoff push proved it was the importance of point guard Rajon Rondo. The former Kentucky star emerged as one of the premier guards in the league and showed his poise and ability to score numerous times down the stretch.
The Celtics also welcomed future Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal to the team, and while he may be getting older, he certainly is still a force down low. Boston also added Jermaine O'Neal to provide some more depth at center.
Coach Doc Rivers is one of the most well-respected head coaches in the league, and with Allen, Pierce, Rondo and Garnett all coming back, and the addition of two reliable centers, it would not be surprising if the Celtics are in the picture at the end of the season once again.
2009-2010 Boston Celtics NBA Preview:
The Boston Celtics have to be excited about their chances as they head into the 2009-2010 NBA season. The Celts finished last year with the second best record in the NBA and nearly made a return trip to the NBA Finals. Without the injury to Kevin Garnett, Boston might have repeated as NBA Champs last year. This season Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers will have a new star to add to his lineup; former Piston Rasheed Wallace has joined Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in Boston. If those four play up to their potential and young PG Rajon Rondo does his thing, then the Celtics will go deep in the 2010 NBA Playoffs.
2008-2009 Boston Celtics NBA Preview:
After capturing their 17th banner to bring home to Boston last season, the defending champions Celtics are poised to accomplish another successful run for the playoffs this season. All-around greats Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce will give this team a strong backbone, and watch for several newcomers to make their name in 2008-2009. A game at TD Banknorth Garden is assured to be a fantastic bet, as the Boston Celtics take the court for a possible title repeat.
