Brooklyn Nets Season Preview History

New Jersey Nets 2012 NBA Season Preview:
The Nets are in one of those bubbles that are ready to pop at any moment—a team full of promise that can explode at any time. The 2011 season was one of turnover for the Nets (and we don’t mean of the basketball) with a new coach in Avery Johnson and a mid-season trade that brought in All-Star point guard Deron Williams to group with fellow All Star, center Brook Lopez and the team’s leading rebounder Kris Humphries. It didn’t take long for Williams to get acclimated to the East Coast after his trade from Utah, and will look to build upon last season to take the Nets to the playoffs and beyond.

2010-2011 New Jersey Nets NBA Preview:
The New Jersey Nets are coming off one of the worst seasons in NBA history. After going just 12-70 last season, New Jersey fans are hoping for a drastic improvement, and with a new owner, new general manager and new facility the franchise is certainly looking to distance itself from the 2009-2010 campaign.

Coach Avery Johnson comes in looking to replicate the success he had with the Dallas Mavericks, and the Nets have provided him with a bevy of new talent to address one of their greatest issues from last season - rebounding. They traded for Troy Murphy, and drafted Georgia Tech standout Derrick Favors with the third overall pick to improve their game down low. The Nets also drafted Damion James out of Texas, who should be a reliable scoring option.

The Nets also picked up Jordan Farmar, Joe Smith, Travis Outlaw and Anthony Morrow, who have all proven to be solid players. The team is still led by guard Devin Harris who was a lone bright spot on the New Jersey team last year.

While they may have improved their lineup significantly, the Nets will likely still miss out on the playoffs, as it is difficult to make that much of a jump in just one offseason.

2009-2010 New Jersey Nets NBA Preview:
The New Jersey Nets head into the 2009-2010 NBA season with things looking positive. Head Coach Lawrence Frank has a young, talented roster that looks ready to contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. He also has a new boss; Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov become majority owner of New Jersey in the off season. His cash should come in handy for building the Nets new arena in Brooklyn, and hopefully for signing a few more key players to help the Nets. So Nets fans have some good days to look forward to because New Jersey is a team on the rise.

2008-2009 New Jersey Nets NBA Preview:
The New Jersey Nets are an NBA basketball team that have established themselves as one of the toughest teams in the Eastern Conference. The Nets are defensive specialists, and have developed a reputation for gritty play. In the 2008-2009 season, there will be much left to see where this team will be at the end of the year. With several trades taking place in the off-season, there will essentially be a new team to look forward to this season. Get ready to catch all the Nets action at the Izod Center this season!
