Cleveland Cavaliers Season Preview History

2012 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Season Preview:
It’s a new day in Cleveland, and a new era that was brought in when the Cavs landed Kyrie Irving as the number one pick and also chose UT’s Tristian Thompson fourth in the last NBA Draft. With these budding stars, Cleveland has a roster full of solid veterans like last year’s leading scorer Antwan Jamison, Anderson Varejao and Baron Davis to guide them through the rough patches and make the Cavs one of the up and coming teams in the NBA!

2010-2011 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Preview:
The Cleveland Cavaliers will look almost entirely different heading into next season. After another premature exit from the playoffs last year, LeBron James jumped ship to play in Miami, Shaquille O'Neal signed with the Boston Celtics, and ownership fired head coach Mike Brown. It will certainly be a rebuilding year for the Cavs, as they look to rebound after the devastating loss of James.

New coach Byron Scott is left with several viable scoring options. Veteran forward Antawn Jamison averaged 18.7 points per game last year, and will likely be turned to for the bulk of the scoring in the wake of LeBron's exit. Mo Williams is back to lead the offense but whether or not he is a strong leader without a dynamic player joining him remains to be seen. However, the biggest cause for hope in Cleveland is J.J. Hickson. The third-year man out of North Carolina State has the potential to play a big role in the Cavalier's offense.

Defense may be a big question mark as well. Center Anderson Varejao is a solid defender, but is definitely not one of the top big men in the NBA. The lack of an established center may make the Cavaliers an easy target for other teams and result in a disappointing season in Cleveland.

2009-2010 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Preview:
The 2009-2010 season is a big year for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The rumor the Cavs can't shake is that their star LeBron James is going to bolt for a new team in a bigger market, so winning now is important to Cleveland. Winning should not be a problem, it's getting to and winning the NBA Finals that is the goal of everyone in a Cavaliers jersey. James is the big star, but he is supported by new acquisition Shaquille O'Neal and Cavs standouts Mo Williams and Daniel Gibson. Watch out for the Cleveland Cavaliers because this really looks like their year to hang an NBA Championship banner.

2008-2009 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Preview:
The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the most exciting, young teams in the NBA. Led by arguably the best basketball player in the world, Lebron James, the Cavs are a team capable of winning any game. Fans fill the stands every night, both at home (Quicken Loans Arena) and on the road, to see Lebron's magnificient talent in-person. A Cavs game is more than just a basketball game, it resembles a travelling circus; the likes of which the NBA has not seen since Michael Jordan retired.
