NEW JERSEY NETS EXPERIENCE:
Founded in 1967, The New Jersey Nets are in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA), where they compete with legendary teams such as the Celtics, 76ers, and the New York Knicks, with whom the Nets have had a healthy rivalry due to their close proximity and clashes over where the teams are located and where they play.  ABA and NBA stars such as Nate Archibald, Rick Barry, and Julius Irving are a few of the great players to don a Nets uniform. 

The New Jersey Americans, as the team was called in its fledgling years, had trouble finding a suitable venue in the New York area, so they settled on The Armory in Teaneck, New Jersey.  After only one season at the venue, the Americans moved to New York, where they changed their name to the New York Nets.  After almost ten years in New York, the team changed their name to the New Jersey Nets after they moved back to New Jersey.  The Nets would struggle in the NBA to get start as a respectable team, but in the 1980's and 1990's, the team was finally on track to see a postseason appearance.  The nation is still waiting for the Nets to break out of their shell and capture their first NBA Championship.
