Orlando Magic Season Preview History
2010-2011 Orlando Magic NBA Preview:
The Orlando Magic looked like a team destined to make it to the NBA Finals last year, but after cruising through the first two rounds of the playoffs they were ousted in the Eastern Conference Finals by a determined Boston Celtics team. The Magic return much of the star power that carried them last year and look poised to make another run at the title.
The Magic focus their team around their All Star center Dwight Howard. The 6-foot-11 Howard is a force on both offense and defense, and should be among the best players in the league. Orlando also has a bevy of talented players around Howard, including dynamic guard Jameer Nelson, and the electric Vince Carter. Quentin Richardson and J.J. Redick are both capable scores as well.
While they are certainly a deep team, they will need to improve on last season. They have a lot of reliable defenders, but outside of Howard they have no go-to scorer, and with a loaded Miami Heat team an improved Celtics squad, they will need it. If they can get more out of Carter or Richardson they may be able to challenge Boston and Miami.
2009-2010 Orlando Magic NBA Preview:
The Orlando Magic head into the 2009-2010 season focused on getting back to the NBA Finals and winning a championship. Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy got his team to the NBA Finals last season, but they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers. To help their cause this year the Magic traded to get Vince Carter. Carter will join Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis to form one of the best trios in the entire NBA.
