2010-2011 Philadelphia 76ers NBA Preview:
The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off one of their most disappointing seasons in recent memory. An abysmal 27-55 record left them well out of the playoff picture, and cost head coach Eddie Jordan his job after just one season. Now, the 76ers are looking to put last year behind them with a new coach and a talented new rookie.
In addition to replacing Jordan with coach Doug Collins, Philadelphia landed one of the most sought after rookies when they selected Ohio State guard Evan Turner with the second overall pick in last years draft. Turner should be a dynamic scorer, and he is also surrounded by a decent amount of talent. Jrue Holiday and Andre Iguodala are both solid players, and if Turner plays up to his expectations, they could be a dangerous trio.
Although Iguodala, Holiday and Turner all have potential, the 76ers season may hinge on the production of Elton Brand. The power forward has been somewhat of a disappointment in Philadelphia since he came over from the Los Angeles Clippers three years ago, and will need to improve on his 13.1 points per game season.
