TORONTO RAPTORS EXPERIENCE:
The Toronto Raptors were founded in 1995 with NBA great Isaiah Thomas as General Manager.  The Raptors play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball League (NBA).  The Raptors, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, were part of the mid-nineties NBA expansion into Canada.  The team isn’t the first NBA team, however, to play in Canada - the Huskies played in Toronto until the mid 1940’s. The Toronto Raptors found their first playoff success between 1999 and 2002 under the leadership of Vince Carter.  After trading Carter in 2004, Chris Bosh stepped forward as the teams franchise player, and with the exciting play of TJ Ford at point guard, the team won the Atlantic Division in 2007 and looks poised to be a future contender for winning their conference and ultimately an NBA title.
