Phoenix Suns 2012 NBA Preview:
Besides its wonderful, top-notch training staff, the Suns are best known in the NBA for their terrific guard play. Of course, that’s easy when you have former MVP Steve Nash bringing the rock up and down the court every night. Last year the Suns ranked fourth overall in points per game, and third in assists, so whatever their place in the standings, you at least knew that you were going to give you an exciting game. With the super athletic shooting guard Shannon Brown added to the mix, it looks like the Suns are poised to give the fans again what they were looking for in 2011-12.
2010-2011 Phoenix Suns NBA Preview:
The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most potent offensive teams in the NBA over recent years, but unfortunately for fans, have sometimes played poor defense. They have been one of the most consistent teams in the league, making the conference finals four of the last six years. Despite the consistency, they have lost each time and will be looking to take that final step to the NBA Finals this season.
The Suns are lead by their dynamic point guard Steve Nash. The diminutive Canadian averaged an impressive 11 assists per game last season, while scoring 16.5 a game. However, outside of Nash the Suns roster is a big question mark. The team lost Amare Stoudemire and Leandro Barbosa to free agency, and how well the aging bodies of Grant Hill and Jason Richardson hold up are serious concerns.
Despite the worry, the Suns have several young players who may be able to shoulder some of the load. Robin Lopez proved he could be a solid defender last season, and the addition of Hedo Turkoglu adds a reliable scorer down low. Ultimately though, the team will go as far as Nash can lead them as the offense centers around his play.
2009-2010 Phoenix Suns NBA Preview:
The Phoenix Suns head into the 2009-2010 NBA season with a goal to return to the Western Conference playoffs. The Suns slipped last year and missed the playoffs, but have a talented roster that should put them back in the mix this season. The Suns will be led by PG Steve Nash and PF Amare Stoudemire. Top to bottom the Suns roster is stacked with talent, so expect big things from Phoenix this year.
2008-2009 Phoenix Suns NBA Preview:
The Phoenix Suns play the most up-tempo exciting basketball in the NBA today. Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire provide fast-paced, high-flying excitement and lead a team poised to finally win an NBA title. Watching a game at the US Airways Center, it's hard to forget the exciting play of Charles Barkley, Danny Ainge, and "Thunder" Dan Majerle in the 1990's. The Phoenix Suns may be even more exciting to watch now than they were then.
