Sacramento Kings 3.3 5 3 3
A night to remember! My first time at the Arena - and my first time at a King's game - it was spectacular - AND WHAT AN ENDING TO THE GAME! Won in final moment over the NY Knicks on 12/28. Attended the game with my grandson who is an avid Kings fan and visiting from Corpus Christi, TX. Arena was very impressive - Kings were very impressive - and I can't wait to come back again. Thanks for the Memories - it was the best experience! December 30, 2012
Kings defeat Griz This was a good game. The Kings are playing much better as a team, primarily because Isaiah Thomas, who is a true point guard, is now in the starting lineup. Thornton played great, Jason Thompson continued to be outstanding, Tyreke good coming off the bench in his 1st game back from injury. As always, Cousins contributed outstanding play but was dubious in his decision-making at times (dumb fouls). March 22, 2012
Anticipation The Kings r BAK! Looking forward to our first game in Sacramento Ca. The spirit of the KINGS is unrivaled by all others. December 24, 2011

SACRAMENTO KINGS
The Kings moved to Sacramento in 1985, but the franchise began playing in the National Basketball League back in 1945 when they were known as the Rochester Royals. After joining the NBA in 1948, the team defeated the New York Knicks to win the 1951 championship. Since relocating in Sacramento, the team has gone on to make 10 playoff appearances, capture two division championships and make one trip to the conference finals.

There has been no shortage of quality players to wear the purple, silver and black. In fact, forward Chris Webber, center Vlade Divac and guard Mitch Richmond played a large part in the Kings' playoff surge during the late '90s and early 2000s.

The Kings most recent battle for the title occurred during the 2001-02 season after the team acquired point guard Mike Bibby, who paired seamlessly with a squad of top-notch veterans. The team entered the playoffs with a franchise-best 61-21 record and made quick work of the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz. The squad would later face the Los Angeles Lakers and would give them quite a scare by leading the series 2-1. Unfortunately, Sacramento would run out of steam by Game 7 and fall to the Lakers in heartbreaking fashion.

However, the future remains bright for the squad, which just saw young gun Tyreke Evans secure NBA Rookie of the Years honors after a standout performance in the 2009-10 season. Because of this, the Kings remain strong contenders for recapturing the crown they took home 50 years ago.
