2013 Orlando Magic Season Preview

The Magic had the season they expected to have in 2012-13, finishing in last place in the Eastern Conference and winning only 20 games – lowest in the NBA. They’ve now embraced a youth movement, letting go of Al Harrington, JJ Redick and Beno Udrih while beginning to build the team around #2 overall pick Victor Oladipo. Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson are the veteran presence on the court, while Jacque Vaughn hopes to prove he was the man for the job sooner rather than later. The Magic open up the season at the Amway Center against the Pelicans on Nov. 1, and will also play Brooklyn, the Clippers and Boston before their first away game in Atlanta. Other key home games will be vs. the defending-champion Miami Heat on Nov. 20, vs. San Antonio on Nov. 29, and then the Heat once again on Jan. 4.

2011 Orlando Magic Season Preview

The Orlando Magic looked like a team destined to make it to the NBA Finals last year, but after cruising through the first two rounds of the playoffs they were ousted in the Eastern Conference Finals by a determined Boston Celtics team. The Magic return much of the star power that carried them last year and look poised to make another run at the title. The Magic focus their team around their All Star center Dwight Howard. The 6-foot-11 Howard is a force on both offense and defense, and should be among the best players in the league. Orlando also has a bevy of talented players around Howard, including dynamic guard Jameer Nelson, and the electric Vince Carter. Quentin Richardson and J.J. Redick are both capable scores as well. While they are certainly a deep team, they will need to improve on last season. They have a lot of reliable defenders, but outside of Howard they have no go-to scorer, and with a loaded Miami Heat team an improved Celtics squad, they will need it. If they can get more out of Carter or Richardson they may be able to challenge Boston and Miami.

2010 Orlando Magic Season Preview

The Orlando Magic head into the 2009-2010 season focused on getting back to the NBA Finals and winning a championship. Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy got his team to the NBA Finals last season, but they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers. To help their cause this year the Magic traded to get Vince Carter. Carter will join Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis to form one of the best trios in the entire NBA.

2009 Orlando Magic Season Preview

The Orlando Magic is going to be an exciting team to watch in 2008-2009. With powerhouse Dwight Howard and newcomer Rashard Lewis, the Magic will be making some aggresive points this season. Also, if the Magic sees some needed improvement in Jameer Nelson, it is probable this team will make a deep playoff run. This season might just be the breakout season for the Magic, putting the team back to the glory days of Penny Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal in the 1990’s. Watch as the Orlando Magic and coach Stan Van Gundy bring this team to playoff contention. A basketball game at the Orlando Magic Arena in Orlando this season will expose you to one of the NBA's bright young teams led by one of its best coaches, fighting to regain their past status as one of the best Eastern Conference teams.
