Sacramento Kings Tickets Information

The Sacramento Kings can trace their history back to the NBA’s inaugural season in 1949. Success came nearly immediately for the then-Rochester Royals. In the NBA’s second season the Royals won the NBA championship. The Kings franchise has been one of runs. After making the playoffs each of its first six seasons, Rochester played postseason basketball just once in its next six seasons—never recording a winning record. By that time in Cincinnati, the Royals followed that six-year swoon with six more years in the playoffs, led by future Hall-of-Famer Oscar Robertson. The next slump for the Royals was eleven seasons long, including as many playoff appearances as relocations, as the franchise moved to Kansas City and adopted the nickname Kings. Over the next two decades the Kings continued to be an up-and-down franchise, and eventually moved to Sacramento. The most recent run of success for the franchise started in the late 1990s and lasted eight seasons. Though they never reached the NBA Finals, Kings teams led by Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Mike Bibby and Vlade Divac made eight straight playoff appearances. The Kings have retired nine numbers through the franchise’s history. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Sacramento Kings basketball tickets.

2014 Kings Season Preview

The 2013-14 NBA season looked very familiar to the Sacramento Kings. The Kings finished the year with a 28-54 record and in 4th place in the Pacific Division, the exact same place that Sacramento was in the previous year.

To avoid another 28 win season, the Sacramento Kings shook up their roster for the 2014-15 season. The Kings said goodbye to Quincy Acy, Isaiah Thomas, and Jared Cunningham and replaced them with Darren Collison, Ramon Sessions, and rookie Nik Stauskas. The addition of Stauskas should give Sacramento a boost in perimeter shooting, and Collison will sure up the point guard position for the Kings. Looking at the Sacramento Kings 2014-15 schedule, the biggest question for Kings fans will be if Rudy Gay is worth his $19 million contract. Expect Gay to put up a career season for the Kings in 2014-15 and for DeMarcus Cousins to continue to quietly be one of the best centers in the Western Conference.

Sacramento Kings Rivals

Kings vs. Warriors

With the Kings and the Warriors separated by under 90 miles, bragging rights between the two organizations and the fan bases is always on the line. This rivalry will only heighten as both teams continue to improve on the basketball court. Regardless of the record, the intensity level is always high when the Kings and the Warriors meet.

Kings vs. Lakers

As state rivals, the hostility is always high when the Kings and the Lakers meet up. This rivalry heated up in the late 1990s and reached its peak when Sacramento and Los Angeles met in the 2002 Western Conference Finals. During that span, the two teams met in the postseason in three straight seasons making this one of the best rivalries in the league at the time.

Kings in the NBA Finals, Western Conference Championships and NBA Playoffs

The Kings organization has had success over the years as they have won an NBA title to go along with a Western Conference championship. Since moving to Sacramento, the Kings are still searching for their first title, but they have won multiple division titles over the years. The franchise had the most success in the early 2000s as they were always fighting for a Western Conference championship.

Sacramento Kings Event Guide

What time do gates open prior to tipoff at a Kings game?

All doors open 1 hour before tipoff. Sacramento is a one-team town and is passionate about their Kings. We recommend getting to the game early to enjoy as much time in the arena as possible.

Where are good places to eat before a Kings game?

Players Sports Pub & Grill and Bisla’s are two of the best sports bars in town and are usually packed with Kings fans. If you are looking for higher end dining that is incredibly convenient, try Skyline Restaurant. It is located inside Sleep Train Arena, and is one of the best fine dining places in the area. For burger lovers you have to try Squeeze Inn. This award winning burger joint is reasonably priced and frequented by food critics everywhere. Other good places are Fanny Anns, and Sals Tacos.

Where is the best place to park at a Kings game?

There are 9 lots surrounding the southern half of the arena. Half of the lots are reserved for preferred parking and require a parking pass. The other lots are available to the general public and usually cost around $10. We recommend getting to the arena early and looking at the southeastern corner of the arena as that is where the largest lot is located.

If your child is 2 years old or older they will require a ticket to enter Sleep Train Arena. If your child is under 2 years old they will be allowed to sit on a guardians lap for the game. It is best to bring proof of your child’s age to the gate to ensure that they are allowed to enter.

A night to remember! My first time at the Arena - and my first time at a King's game - it was spectacular - AND WHAT AN ENDING TO THE GAME! Won in final moment over the NY Knicks on 12/28. Attended the game with my grandson who is an avid Kings fan and visiting from Corpus Christi, TX. Arena was very impressive - Kings were very impressive - and I can't wait to come back again. Thanks for the Memories - it was the best experience! December 30, 2012
Kings defeat Griz This was a good game. The Kings are playing much better as a team, primarily because Isaiah Thomas, who is a true point guard, is now in the starting lineup. Thornton played great, Jason Thompson continued to be outstanding, Tyreke good coming off the bench in his 1st game back from injury. As always, Cousins contributed outstanding play but was dubious in his decision-making at times (dumb fouls). March 22, 2012
Anticipation The Kings r BAK! Looking forward to our first game in Sacramento Ca. The spirit of the KINGS is unrivaled by all others. December 24, 2011
