The San Antonio Spurs franchise began in 1967 as the Dallas Chaparrals of the ABA. In 1973 the team moved to San Antonio, becoming the Spurs, and in 1976 joined the NBA. Playing in a brand new league, the Chaparrals had immediate success, posting a winning record in the franchise's first three seasons. Upon joining the NBA, the Spurs remained an elite franchise, thanks to George "The Iceman" Gervin. Gervin led the Spurs to seven straight playoff trips after joining the NBA, winning the division five times. After a brief lull, the Spurs returned to prominence with the addition of David Robinson, who joined the team after completing his commitment to the Navy. San Antonio took the next step when they named Gregg Popovich the head coach and added Tim Duncan through the draft. Duncan teamed with Robinson to lead the Spurs to the 1999 NBA title. With Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, the Spurs won the title again in 2003—Robinson's final season. The trio of Duncan, Parker and Ginobili has kept the Spurs at the top of the NBA, winning two more titles in 2005 and 2007. San Antonio has retired six numbers in its franchise history. 2014 Spurs Season Preview
The Spurs came oh-so-close to a 5th NBA Championship, but a Ray Allen fadeaway three-pointer gave the Heat new life and led to a Game 7 victory for Miami. The Spurs had 58 wins in the regular season, and are thinking about 60+ this season with the possibility of a full-on breakout year from Kawhi Leonard. The 6’7 small forward can be the fourth cog in the Duncan, Parker, Ginobili machine as they go for it all again in the 2013-14 Season.
San Antonio will tip-off the season at the Staples Center against the Lakers on Nov. 1, before finishing a short West Coast trip in Portland and Denver. The first home game of the season will be Nov. 6 against the Phoenix Suns. Other key home games will be vs. Houston on Nov. 30, vs. Oklahoma City on Dec. 21, and vs. Miami on March 6 in an NBA Finals rematch.

Excellent time Had a great time at the game! GO SPURS GO! March 10, 2014
Great great time! We had great seats, you almost touch the players! It was such an awsome game. My husband wants those same seats again. Thanks for the opportunity of us attending such an awsome game and seating. We are faithful fans of the San Antonio Spurs. Go Spurs Go! December 15, 2013
Love the AT&T Center Going to a Spurs game is definitely a must if they're playing when you're in San Antonio, even if you aren't a fan. The AT&T center is a lot more intimate then the Alamodome was, and even the upper deck seats give you a good view (even though i'd still recommend going with the 1st level). Check out the trophy case and take a picture with the four NBA championship trophies before the game. May 29, 2013
Had a blast! I purchased Spurs tickets for my daughter's 25th birthday celebration. We got excellent seats behind the basket, so at halftime, we were given those long sticks that you clap together to make noise. And did we ever make noise. We had a blast at the game and my daughter had a memorable 25th birthday. And the Spurs even won!! GO SPURS GO! November 5, 2012
