Utah Jazz Ticket Information

The Utah Jazz organization joined the NBA prior to the 1974-75 season, playing its first five seasons in New Orleans. The Jazz never had success in the Big Easy, winning fewer than 40 games every season in New Orleans. After moving to Utah, things didn’t get much better right away. It wasn’t until the 1983-84 season that the Jazz made their first trip to the playoffs—only to be eliminated by the Phoenix Suns. Despite the eventual loss, that season would be the first of 20 straight seasons the Jazz would be a part of postseason play. The franchise was destined to be feared by opponents thanks to the formidable duo of Karl Malone and John Stockton. Sharing the spotlight in Utah for 18 seasons together, the superstar combo made a total of 24 All-Star games and was named to 25 All-NBA teams. Their Jazz teams made the NBA Finals twice, but both times were foiled by Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. The Jazz have made the playoffs five times since the Malone/Stockton era, including four in a row with Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams leading the way. Utah has retired the numbers of nine players through the franchise’s history. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Utah Jazz basketball tickets.

2014 Jazz Season Preview

The Utah Jazz just missed out on a playoff spot in the 2012-13 Season, winning 43 games in the process. Derrick Favors is a beast on the glass and throwing down dunks and Enes Kanter proved to be dependable in the paint with a 54% shooting percentage. The Jazz added Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson and Brandon Rush while pulling off a draft-and-trade for point guard Trey Burke. Not many know what to expect from the Jazz this season, but the ceiling is sky high in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz will start the season in Phoenix with a match up against the Suns on Nov. 1. The first home game of the season comes the next night with the Rockets and Dwight Howard making the trip to EnergySolutions Arena. Other key home games will be vs. Chicago on Nov. 25, vs. San Antonio on Dec. 14 and a matchup with the Lakers on Dec. 27.

The Jazz and the Rockets have met up over 190 times dating back to 1974. The two teams have had classic battles and have had stars such as Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Hakeem Olajuwon grace the court in this match-up. This rivalry reached its peak in the mid-1990s when the Jazz and Rockets met in the playoffs four times in five seasons including two Western Conference Finals. The rivalry was renewed in the late-2000s when both teams met in the first round of the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

Jazz vs. Trail Blazers

The Jazz and the Trail Blazers have been in some great regular season games against each other, as well as 30+ playoff games in their history. These two teams have battled it out over the years in the Western Conference which has made this match-up one of the best in the league. The rivalry reached its peak when Utah and Portland met in 1992 Western Conference Finals.

Jazz vs. Spurs

These two Western Conference foes, neither of which are strangers to the NBA Finals, are representative of cities that love their basketball. The Jazz and the Spurs have also played in over 20 playoff match-ups over the years, including a Western Conference Finals series in 2007. This rivalry was at its best when Utah and San Antonio met three times in five seasons in the playoffs.

Both teams have faced off in the playoffs over 30 times; highlighted by a Jazz sweep in the 1998 Western Conference Finals. Karl Malone, John Stockton, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant played huge roles in making this one of the better rivalries in the NBA.

Jazz in the NBA Finals, Western Conference Championships and NBA Playoffs

The Jazz became one of the most dominant teams in the NBA during the late 1990s that led them to win multiple Western Conference championships. With stars like Karl Malone and John Stockton wearing the Jazz uniform and Jerry Sloan as the head coach, Utah was a mainstay in the NBA playoffs for years. The Jazz have also added over 7 division titles through the years and will only add to that number in the upcoming seasons.

What time do gates open prior to tipoff at a Jazz game?

Doors open an hour and a half before game time at EnergySolutions Arena.

Where are good places to eat before a Jazz game?

If you are a burger lover you should check out Crown Burgers in downtown Salt Lake City. This local favorite usually has free parking and the food is pretty good too. There are a few great brewpubs in the area, we recommend trying Squatters Pubs & Beer, or Red Rock Brewing Company. If you are looking for Asian food, J Wong’s Asian Bistro and Dojo are both worth visiting. For a trendier place, try Em’s. Known for local food and healthy dishes, this small restaurant is a great dining experience. If you are looking for a more upscale restaurant, try The New Yorker. It is pricier but you won’t be disappointed.

Where is the best place to park at EnergySolutions Arena?

There are a couple good lots right next to ESA, but they fill up quickly. For best results purchase a parking pass and/or arrive early. The largest lots connected with the arena are directly to the north, and northeast, we recommend trying these first. The Trax runs from downtown to the arena for free and is always full of passionate Jazz fans. For downtown parking, try looking at the corner of West Temple and South Temple as there is a huge parking area, and is close to a Trax pickup.

Does my child need a ticket to go to a Jazz game?

Children 24 months and younger can enter EnergySolutions Arena without a ticket and must sit in a parents lap for the duration of the game. It is best to bring proof of your child’s age to the game with you to ensure they are allowed to enter.

Utah Jazz 5 5 1 1
Can You Believe in Miracles! I remember ordering 2 tickets to the Jazz game for the first time without buying the tickets on the event. I was worried as I have an attractive date I didn't want to disappoint. To my surprise the representative on the phone was very polite and extremely helpful. When I arrived at the event my tickets were at will call and it was a very quick and smooth process. That night was an incredible night. I know my date was very pleased as everything seemed to run so smoothly. To top everything off LeBron James scored 50 points in that game. Can you believe in miracles? I couldn't have thought of a more perfect date. December 31, 2010
