Big Twelve Tournament Ramps Up

Big Twelve Tournament ramps up and TicketCity.com is ready to sell tickets.

The first ever Oklahoma City-hosted Big Twelve Tournament starts next week; TicketCity.com has tourney tickets on hand.

Austin, TX (February 28, 2007) - The Phillips 66 Big Twelve Men’s Basketball Championship takes place next week in it’s new venue with Oklahoma City hosting. The Ford Center is the location for the four-day, eleven-game event running March 8th to 11th.

Ford Center seats nearly 20,000 basketball spectators. This is the first time since the Big Twelve was formed in 1996-97 that any city other than Dallas or Kansas City has hosted the basketball postseason championships.

“We feel that this venue breathes new life into the tournament,” says TicketCity.com CEO Randy Cohen. “Oklahoma City will be an exciting arena for even the veteran Big 12 tourney attendee and it’s a lot more central and therefore accessible to fans across the Big Twelve.”

The tournament kicks off on Thursday, March 8th with Game One between #8 and #9 seeds, Game Two between #5 and #12 seeds, Game Three between #7 and #10 seeds and Game Four between #6 and #11 seeds. Tickets to these four games, known as Sessions One and Two, are available at deep discounts.

TicketCity.com, the original online ticket broker, has tickets available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday games as well. They have representatives on the ground Wednesday through Sunday to make sure that tickets are delivered with ease and ensuring that their valued clients enjoy the tournament weekend.

“Look for TicketCitians at the Hooter’s next to Ford Center on Thursday during the day where they’ll be raffling off 6-blocks of Session 1 and 2 tickets,” adds Cohen.

Those interested in purchasing tickets should call (800) SOLD-OUT or go online to TicketCity.com to reserve their seats.

Before the tournament starts, the seeding and match-ups must be settled and TicketCity.com still has conference play tickets available. With Texas playing both A&M and Kansas this week, the top four seeds are up for grabs. Kansas State has a two-game lead over Texas Tech and will have to win both their games this week in order to keep their top seeding. Expect to see plenty of Oklahoma State Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners joining the Longhorns, Jayhawks, Wildcats and Aggies in Oklahoma City. Those seedings and match-ups will be posted this Sunday, March 4th.
