(AUSTIN, TX) - Ticket prices for the showdown between the 'Horns and the Tide are hot and pricey. They are also going fast. Fans of both schools are considered good travelers which means hefty prices from ticket brokers.
Reportedly some endzone seats last week were selling for about $700 and on Monday Ticket City said they were going for around $1,000. There's even reports of some prime endzone seats selling for as much as $5,000.
On Sunday night, The University Alumni Group - Texas Exes - started offering individual travel packages on charter planes ranging from a $1,000 to almost $2,000. The longer someone waits, the higher the cost, but there is an exception to the rule. Ticketmaster will offer a limited amount (approx. 500) of BCS Championship Game tickets for sale. It will done on their website and over the phone on December 15. Prices for those tickets will start at $275 per ticket plus handling fees.
Randy Cohen with Ticket City says those tickets will go so fast that the odds of someone getting a ticket on Dec. 15 are very slim. It is estimated that they could sell out in a few minutes.
Now Longhorn fans have to weigh how much they are willing to spend on seeing their team play in the National Championship game.
