TicketCity recognized on the Inc. 5000 List for Third Consecutive Year
TicketCity ranks No. 3,957 on the 2009 Inc.5000 list of fastest-growing private companies.
Austin, TX (BusinessWire) August 11, 2009
– Since its inception in 2007, the Inc. 5000
list of fastest-growing private companies has recognized TicketCity
every year. This year, TicketCity ranks 3,957 on the list and continues to be a leader in the secondary ticketing industry.
Founded in 1990 by CEO Randy Cohen
, TicketCity grew from selling a few University of Texas
tickets in Austin, to selling tickets to a variety of events across the US, and the world. "We pride ourselves on customer service which has resulted in steady growth and continued success," comments Cohen.
The 2009 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2008, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2005, and $2 million in 2008.
“The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth,” said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan.
With the economic downturn last year, TicketCity was still able to realize continued growth by evaluating inventory investments and focusing on events that were less susceptible to recent changes in the marketplace. “TicketCity’s success can be contributed to strategically forecasting growth requirements by our top-notch management team while maintaining a core team of loyal employees,” explains Cohen. Partnerships with venues, media outlets and Fortune 500 companies have also helped in strengthening the awareness of TicketCity.
“Attaining premium tickets and excelling in customer service are our key goals for the coming year,” states Cohen. As passionate fans themselves, the TicketCity team provides clients with immediate and personalized service often making recommendations on purchases. "For 19 years, we've seen much success and will continue to strive to be the best ticketing resource for our clients,” ended Cohen.
