TicketCity Sets up Camp

TicketCity sets up camp for the Masters; expects big crowds.

Ticket sales are up for the first major golf tournament of the year; and TicketCity is on-site in Augusta to best serve their clients.

Austin, TX (April 3, 2007) - Inside the gates of Augusta National Golf Club, an egg-salad sandwich is a mere $1.50. A beer can be bought for $2.00. And the delicious pink lemonade is only 50 cents.

But to gain access to this privileged golf playground, you’ll need to spend a little more than that to pass through those gates.

Practice Round Tickets and “Badges”, as they are referred to at The Masters, are up in price almost 10 percent from last year. And while prices held steady over the past months, the event has now turned into a strong seller’s market.

“We are very pleased with the enthusiasm for the Masters this year,” says TicketCity CEO Randy Cohen. “It’s nice to see golf lovers from all over the world enjoying this truly special event. There really is no other event like it.”

The Masters has been an event that TicketCity has specialized in since the business began in 1990. Last year, TicketCity purchased a home on the famed Azalea Drive, just a short walk from the main entrance to the course at Augusta National.

“It’s about convenience and appreciation. Our clients can stop by, grab a refreshment and a small snack on the way into the tournament and then again afterwards on their way to dinner,” adds Cohen. Clients can also park at the TicketCity house.

What makes the 2007 Masters a must-see? First, it’s the premiere golf event in the World and generally regarded as something any huge golfing enthusiast must do once. Also, this year Tiger Woods celebrates ten years since his historic Masters win. Tiger has won 3 other times since their first victory. Will this be win number 5? Veteran player and 2006 winner Phil Mickelson returns looking for a third win. Will his streak continue since winning his first major in 2004 right here at the Masters? And, Augusta-native Charles Howell III has vowed to retire should he go home with the green jacket. Will he leave professional golf at age 27?

“Everyone is going to be watching this year,” says Cohen, “and there’s room for all levels of golf-enthusiasts. We have a lot of wives, who buy their husband badges as a gift, and then enjoy the event just as much as their guys.”

TicketCity reports having one-day Saturday badges, starting as low as $725.

“This is a great opportunity for someone who has always wanted to witness the magic of the Masters, but may not have the time or means to be there all four days.”

In addition, TicketCity offers full Hospitality Packages, which includes the full-range of VIP services, to guests just down the way from the TicketCity house and in close proximity to Augusta National.

Those interested in purchasing tickets, including one-day to four-day badges or Hospitality, should call (800) SOLD-OUT or go online to TicketCity.com.
