NFL Ticket Information

Since the release of the 2014-2015 NFL Schedule ticket demand has been on the steady rise. In part due to the fact that NFL teams only have a guaranteed 8 home games a season, NFL tickets tend to be the most expensive on average of all the sports. While NFL Playoff games, including the Super Bowl, tend to be every season’s most demanded ticket, the same factors that are responsible for increasing/decreasing regular season prices (marquee matchups, newly acquired talent, high profile teams) effect them as well.

As in most years, tickets to the top teams for the upcoming season always stand out as the big ticket. This year’s NFL season has the San Francisco 49ers leading the ticket costs at $485.85 ticket average with their biggest rival, the Seattle Seahawks, coming in right behind them at a $452.34 average ticket price. Other teams among the most desired ticket include the New England Patriots ($414.22 ticket average), Chicago Bears ($348.99 ticket average), and the Dallas Cowboys ($322.28 ticket average).

While many teams carry a stigma as being a “Big Ticket” team, there are other variables such as newly acquired players and marquee matchups can impact a team’s average ticket price as well. With the addition of Johnny Manziel to the Browns, the franchise saw a 2013 average ticket price of approximately $100 jump up to $146.31. If you are looking to get a great deal on some of the biggest games of the 2014-15 NFL season buying early is always a good rule of thumb, as the demand/price is generally still fairly low.

Some key matchups of the year include Week 1’s “Revenge of the Fail Mary” at CenturyLink Field between Green Bay Packers and Seattle, the Cowboys visit to MetLife Stadium for the classic Dallas vs. New York game, and Week 13’s bitter rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks at the newly constructed Levi’s Stadium.
