2011 BUFFALO BILLS PREVIEW:
The Buffalo Bills have had a string of underachieving years, most likely due to being victims of circumstance. They play in the super-competitive AFC East, dominated by the Patriots and Jets for the past decade. However, they may have some hope for 2011, as they possess a number of young skilled players who could make a difference in battling the powerhouses in the conference and division.
Perhaps the biggest hole in the Bills offense is at quarterback. The presumptive starter is Ryan Fitzpatrick, who showed flashes of potential last season, but also suffered from inconsistency. Luckily he is surrounded by some talented players who can pick up the slack. Receivers Steve Johnson and Lee Evans are both among the fastest players in the league, and running backs C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson have big play capability.
The Bills will have to improve defensively if they want to compete with the likes of the Jets and the Patriots. But, they have some parts in place to shore up their defense, most notably in the form of linebacker Shawne Merriman, who will be beginning his first full season with the club. Cornerback Leodis McKelvin is also a strong player and return specialist.

The Buffalo Bills play football in the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference (AFL) in the National Football League (NFL). The franchise played in the American Football League (AFL) from 1960 to 1969 when it joined the NFL as the two leagues merged. The Bills won 2 consecutive AFL Championships in the 1960’s and an incredible 4 consecutive AFC Championships between 1990 and 1993. The Bills were unable, however, to translate those wins into any Super Bowl titles, a fact that has dogged the franchise for more than a decade. The Buffalo Bills may be poised to break this drought in the coming years.
