2011 KANSAS CITY PREVIEW:
The Kansas City Chiefs were a great surprise last season by going 10-6 and earning their first playoff berth since 2006. With a deep squad of talented young players, head coach Todd Haley looks poised to repeat as AFC West champions.
The biggest reason for the Chiefs success in 2010 was the solid quarterback play from Matt Cassel, who earned a Pro Bowl bid. Also pacing the offense was running back Jamaal Charles, who emerged as one of the best running backs in the league. The Chiefs are also lucky to have a stable of skilled receivers, specifically Dwayne Bowe and newcomer Steve Breaston and Jonathan Baldwin.
As for the defense, the secondary is among the best units in the NFL, thanks in large part to the contributions of cornerback Eric Berry, who will be looking to build on a standout rookie campaign. The defensive line is stout as well, led specifically by former first round pick Glenn Dorsey. Derrick Johnson anchors a solid linebacking corps that should keep opposing offenses on their toes all year long.

The Kansas City Chiefs play in the West Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football league (NFL). The team was founded in 1960 as part of the American Football League (AFL) in which they would win 3 championships. After the two leagues merged, the Kansas City Chiefs would win a Super Bowl in 1969 but then struggle and perform poorly throughout most of the '70s and '80s. Marty Schottenheimer took the helm as coach in 1989 and would lead the Chiefs to 7 playoff appearances in 8 years. Kansas City has again struggled since Dick Vermeil took over the team, although their home record is still among the best in the league and the team has proven it must be taken seriously. Look for Kansas City Chiefs to make a run at the playoffs this season.
The Kansas City Chiefs have played their home games at Arrowhead Stadium since 1972. The stadium holds a capacity crowd of nearly 80,000 and has sold out every game for an incredible 17 seasons. The crowd is boisterous and rabid about their team. Attend a game and you'll feel what resembles a college football atmosphere with tailgating and unbridled enthusiasm.
