2010 Miami Dolphins Football Preview:
The Miami Dolphins play in the AFC East, which is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. It may be difficult for the Dolphins to return to the playoffs after missing out last year, having to go through a veteran New England Patriots club and an upstart New York Jets team. However, thanks to some new additions on offense Miami will come very close.
Thanks to their introduction of the Wildcat offense to the league, Miami has been among the leaders in rushing yards the past several years, and with Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown populating the backfield, it won't be surprising to see them rely heavily on the running game once again.
Although Miami will certainly run the ball frequently, they may look to throw a little more often. The Dolphins signed wide receiver Brandon Marshall in the offseason, giving quarterback Chad Henne one of the best targets in the league in his first full year as a starter.
On defense, Miami has a solid linebacking corps led by Channing Crowder. The squad will have to improve on their pass coverage this year though, as they surrendered more than 234 yards per through the air in 2009, and the burden falls on a cornerback squad led by Will Allen.
2009 Miami Dolphins Football Preview:
The Miami Dolphins surpassed all expectations in 2008 by posting an 11-5 record and winning the AFC East. So 2009 will be a season to see if the Dolphins can maintain those lofty levels or slump back to the bottom of the tough AFC East. Fins Head Coach Tony Sparano will be hoping to get another fantastic year out of his quarterback, Chad Pennington, and a salty defense. If Miami's running game is effective in '09 as Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams were last season, then the sky is the limit. It is possible the Dolphins could be the first NFL team to play in a Super Bowl in their home stadium.
2008 Miami Dolphins Football Preview:
The Miami Dolphins can only improve in the coming season. The team will be coming off a poor year in 2007, but should be able to make a turnaround with off-season trades and the draft. The exciting thing about the NFL is how quickly a team can rebuild itself into a winner, and how exciting it is to watch that process. Dolphin Stadium will be the place to be for fans to watch Miami begin one of the toughest turnarounds in recent NFL history. Anything is possible in the NFL!
