2010 Tennessee Titans Football Preview:
The Tennessee Titans got off to an abysmal 0-6 start last season, which bottomed out with a 59-0 loss to the New England Patriots. A resurgent Vince Young took over and lead them back to a respectable 8-8 finish, and while the Titans will be looking to ride the late season momentum into this year, a difficult schedule may keep them out of the post season.
Much like last season, the Titans offense will focus primarily on getting the ball to running back Chris Johnson, who lead the league in rushing in 2009 with an impressive 2,006 yards on the ground and 14 touchdowns. Young looked ready to lead the team down the stretch last season and should be reliable under center. He has a stable of solid receivers to throw to, and second-year man Kenny Britt and veteran Nate Washington are likely to be his prime targets.
While the offense had its troubles last year, the defense was even more suspect. The squad ranked second-to-last against the pass, surrendering more than 258 yards per game through the air. The secondary will rely on cornerback Cortland Finnegan to improve on their numbers from last year, as he is looking for a return to the production of 2007 when he recorded 95 tackles. Additionally, big things will be expected of middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch, who lead the team with 121 tackles last season.
2009 Tennessee Titans Football Preview:
2008 was a breakthrough year for the Tennessee Titans; so what is on-deck for them in 2009? Hopefully more of the same, with just a little better results in the playoffs. The Titans will again win with a ball control running game and a dominate defense. Quarterback Kerry Collins is back at the helm on offense. Collins will rely on a veteran o-line and a fantastic one-two punch in the running game with Chris Johnson and LenDale White. The Titans defense loses a key component, Albert Haynesworth, both should still be the class of the AFC. Haynesworth was a star in their '08 defense, but linebacker Keith Bulluck was the straw that stirred the drink. Bulluck is back, so you can count on the Titans to field another Super Bowl caliber defense. The goal for Jeff Fisher in 2009 is to get the offensive production up, keep the defense playing at a superior level and get his team down to Miami for the Super Bowl.

The Tennessee Titans are one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NFL today. Behind the leadership of incredibly mobile and unpredictable quarterback Vince Young, the Tennessee Titans will manage to stay well within the playoff hunt this season. As a rookie, Young took over the reins as quarterback among the din of many detractors that he wouldn’t pan out in the NFL. Young has managed to become one of those players who simply wins, whether by passing or running. The Tennessee Titans should continue to be an exciting team to watch and a playoff dark horse for years to come.
