The Cardinals are one of the oldest franchises in football, tracing its roots back to 1920. Despite their age, the Cardinals have not had much success in the NFL. As the Chicago Cardinals, the franchise had an early does of winning, taking home the NFL title in 1925 with an impressive 11-2-1 record. After the championship however, the Cardinals would go on to have just two winning seasons in the next 20 years—including two seasons in which the Cardinals were totally winless. In 1947 Chicago returned to the prominence it had in the 1920s, winning the franchise’s second and most recent NFL title. After just two more winning seasons in 11 years after making the playoffs in 1948, the Cardinals moved to St. Louis. The franchise spent 27 seasons in St. Louis, during which time it made the playoffs just three seasons, before moving to Arizona in 1988. The Phoenix, then eventually Arizona, Cardinals have had similar struggles in their newest home. Arizona has made the playoffs just three times, including the 2008 Super Bowl run. Arizona has retired the numbers of five players throughout the team’s history. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Arizona Cardinals tickets.

2015 Arizona Cardinals Season Preview

The Cardinals were the best team in the NFL last season that did not get a playoff spot, and that can only make the drive for the postseason more intense for the team going into the 2014 season. Arizona went 10-6, including a win over the eventual Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks behind new QB Carson Palmer. This year the Cards added Jonathan Dwyer and Ted Ginn to help smooth over the losses of Rashard Mendenhall and Andre Roberts, as well as picking up Antonio Cromartie to help out in the secondary. The Cards will kick off the season at home against the Chargers, and then have a tough Week 3-4 with match ups against the 49ers and Broncos. A trip to Dallas is on the agenda in Week 9, and Arizona will have to finish strong to make the playoffs with the final two regular season games coming against the Seahawks and 49ers. The Cardinals have one of the best secondaries in the game, but they’ll need to be better in stopping the run to make their own run in 2014.

Arizona Cardinals Rivals

Cardinals vs. Rams

With the Cardinals playing in St. Louis for over 20 years before moving to Arizona and with both teams in the same division, it is only natural for these two teams and fan bases to not like each other. The games between these two teams are always intense and with two matchups a year, the rivalry only continues to grow.

This rivalry has picked up steam over recent seasons with players commenting on their dislike for each other. As both teams play two times a year, this matchup is always one of the most heated games in the NFL and usually leaves the players sore for days.

Cardinals in the Super Bowl, NFC Championship and in the NFL Playoffs

The Cardinals are still searching for their first Super Bowl title, but they have won an NFC Championship and multiple division titles over the years to go along with their 7+ playoff appearances.

We are still a GREAT TEAM! Last Sunday's game against Seahawks was "heart breaking" we have done well all season then next thing you know are great men are getting injured. I'm not losing hope on my cardinals I still have faith and I hope they themselves believe in it too. There is still a shot so hopefully next game they bring it! Not one or two but every man on board bring it! Work every vessel and artery and muscle next game. December 23, 2014
