Atlanta Falcons Tickets Information

The Falcons have played in the NFL since 1966, being met with various levels of success over the course of their history. Atlanta didn’t reach the playoffs for the first time until 1978—posting just two winning seasons in the franchise’s first 12 years of existence. With Steve Bartkowski under center, the Falcons made the playoffs five times from 1978-1982, winning its first division title. Atlanta was up and down for two and a half decades after making the playoffs in 1982, returning to the postseason five more times before hiring Mike Smith in 2008 as the team’s new coach. Smith’s Falcons with Matt Ryan leading the way has had a winning record in each of his five seasons at the helm. Atlanta has made the playoffs in four of those years and won two division titles. The Falcons have remembered eight players in the team’s Ring of Honor. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Atlanta Falcons tickets.

2014 Falcons Season Preview

The Falcons problems last season are well documented. A slew of injuries brought down a team that looked like they could be headed for a Super Bowl, and without his weapons Matt Ryan had the worst season of his career. The team has added some help on the offensive line, including OT Jake Matthews from Texas A&M in the first round of the draft. While Tony Gonzalez is no longer on the team, the Falcons did add Devin Hester to look for a few more big plays in the special teams. With Roddy White and Julio Jones back and healthy, the Falcons could be a factor against the Panthers in the AFC South once again. The Falcons will host the Saints in Week 1 at the Georgia Dome, but some of the other big games to look forward to are vs. Bears in Week 6, at Carolina in Week 11 and at Green Bay in Week 14. The possibilities for this Falcons team are endless when everyone is healthy.

Atlanta Falcons Rivals

This rivalry has often times been referred to as the “Southern Showdown” and is the oldest and most established rivalry in the division. With 9+ division titles between the two teams, the stakes are at its highest when they play against each other. The fan bases consider this matchup the most hated and intense of all the other opponents they play and with two games a year, this rivalry will only continue to grow.

Falcons vs. Eagles

This rivalry is based off the results on the field and not because they are division foes or play in the same state. With multiple playoff matchups and numerous close games over the years dating back to their first game in 1966, this rivalry has become as an intense as any division matchup.

This rivalry, also known as the “I-85 Rivalry” because both cities are only separated by five hours on Interstate 85, has become one of the better division rivalries in the NFL since their first matchup in 1995. They may not have played in as many contests as some of the historical rivalries, but with more than 6 division titles between the two teams, this rivalry only continues to get better.

Falcons in the Super Bowl, NFC Championship and NFL Playoffs

With an NFC Championship, multiple division titles and 10+ playoff appearances, the Falcons continue to build a resume that puts them in the conversation as one of the better organizations in the NFL. The recent success in Atlanta has only added to the talk that the Falcons are of the top franchises in football.
