The Vikings kept answering the Bears with scoring drives of their own to send the game into overtime tied at 20. Both teams would go on to miss field goals in extra time but the third time's a charm for Blair Walsh as he split the uprights from 34 yards out to win the game 23-20.

Peterson put the Vikings up 14-0 before halfway through the 1st quarter and Harrison Smith took a Jay Cutler pass to the house for Minnesota’s final score. The Vikings improved to 7-6, one game behind the Bears at 8-5.
