Detroit Lions Ticket Information

The Detroit Lions are one of the oldest and most storied franchises in NFL history. For the franchise's first four seasons the franchise was known as the Portsmouth Spartans, and the organization had early success. In 1932 the Spartans won the franchise's first championship. In the 1950s the Lions experienced a run of success, leading to back-to-back championships in 1952 and 1953. Another title in 1957 marked Detroit's third title in six years, but was also the last title the Lions would win. After the franchise's fourth title, the Lions fell into a deep playoff slump, making the post season just once between 1957 and 1982, and only three times before 1991. Led by star running back Barry Sanders, the Lions went on a long run of success in the 1990s. In Sanders' ten year career spanning from 1989 to 1998, the Lions made the playoffs five times, winning two division titles, though Detroit never got over the hump and won a conference championship. The Lions have retired the numbers of six players, including that of Barry Sanders. Find more information on our History of the Lions page. Detroit Lions Rivals

As division foes since 1933 and with over 165 meetings, this historical rivalry is listed among the best of all-time in the NFL. These two teams have met every year since 1930 which is the longest-running annual series in the history of the NFL. With both teams combining for over 20 division titles, the stakes are usually at its highest when they meet and the intensity level is hard to match.

This rivalry between two historical franchises dates back to 1930 and is the longest continuously-running rivalry in the NFL as both teams have played twice a year since 1932. With many memorable games throughout the 80+ years, these two teams have established one of the best rivalries in the NFL and will only add to that in the years to come.

Lions vs. Vikings

With many close games in the 100+ matchups, this rivalry continues to get better as both teams face each other twice a year. The NFC North has been nicknamed the "Black and Blue" division and this matchup lives up to that name as it is always one of the most intense and hard-hitting games in the NFL.

Lions in the Super Bowl, NFC Championship and the NFL Playoffs

The Lions have been in the NFL for more than 80 years, but they are still searching for their first Super Bowl victory. However, they have won multiple NFL Championships as they were one of the more dominant franchises in the 1950s. The Lions helped set the foundation for the NFL to become the success that it is now.
