As one of the newest franchises in the National Football League, the Houston Texans, do not have an extensive playoff history. However, the franchise has quickly become a contender in the National Football League since debuting in 2002.
Originally, the Houston Oilers called the city home until they were moved to Tennessee. Today, the Oilers are known as the Tennessee Titans. In an effort to revive football in Houston, the Texans were introduced in 2002. Since then, owner Bob McNair has been working to develop a roster full of talent and depth that can compete in the American Football Conference.
The Texans are a part of the AFC South, along with the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars. Houston has yet to win the division or make it into the postseason. However, the franchise is quickly making a push toward becoming a competitor in the AFC as a whole.
Today, the Texans host their home games at Reliant Stadium. This venue is most notable for being one of the first to have a retractable roof, making it both an indoor and outdoor stadium.
