The Jacksonville Jaguars, established as an expansion team in 1995, have become a serious contender in the National Football League. Although they have yet to win a Super Bowl, the Jaguars have made six appearances in the postseason. Jacksonville has also won two divisional championships throughout its history.
The team's latest playoff appearance occurred in 2007. Jacksonville faced the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card game, moving onto the divisional round with a 31-29 win. However, the Jaguars eventually lost in the next round to the New England Patriots, 31-20.
In 1999, the Jaguars posted their best regular season record, finishing at 14-2. Although they have yet to make it to the postseason in recent years, Jacksonville continues to show promise in the competitive AFC South. The team faces its division rivals twice a year: the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.
The franchise, which is still relatively young, does not have any Pro Football Hall of Famers or Most Valuable Player award winners. Jacksonville has also not officially retired any numbers. However, this may change once the Jaguars improve upon their 5-6 playoff record.
