The Kansas City Chiefs were one of the charter teams in the AFL back in 1960. In 1963, the team—originally the Dallas Texans—moved to Kansas City because Dallas couldn’t sustain two football teams. The Texans/Chiefs had their greatest success in professional football as an AFL team. In 1962 the Texans won the AFL championship, then followed it up with another title in 1965 and a Super Bowl victory over the Minnesota Vikings in 1969. Aside from a stray playoff appearance in 1971, the Chiefs struggled in the NFL. Under head coach Marty Schoettenheimer, Kansas City went on a major run of success in the 1990s. The Chiefs made the playoffs six straight seasons from 1990 to 1995 and again in 1997. Over that stretch Kansas City won three division titles, but never got over the hump to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Since the 1990s, the Chiefs have had only the occasional strong season, making the playoffs just three more times. Kansas City has retired the numbers of 10 players in the team’s history. 2014 Chiefs Season Preview
The Kansas City Chiefs were of the one league’s biggest surprises in 2013, going undefeated until Week 11 of the season. The Chiefs stumbled after that first loss to Denver, losing 5 of their last 7 games to still clinch and AFC wild card berth. The pitted them against the Colts, who completed a miraculous comeback to down the Chiefs 45-44 and end KC’s season. The Chiefs didn’t see too much personnel movement in the offseason, bringing in Jeff Linkenbach and Vance Walker, while losing Dexter McCluster and Brandont Albert. The brunt of the work will likely be back on Jamaal Charles, who continues to prove himself to be one of the best, if not the best, running back in the NFL. Kansas City will begin the season at Arrowhead with a Week 1 matchup against the Titans. Then right away in Week 2 we see a rematch against the Broncos at Mile High. The Patriots will play in KC in Week 4, as will the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks in Week 11. The Chiefs have proven to be good enough to compete with the best, but they’ll need a group effort, led by Alex Smith, to get there once again.

Chiefs vs. Raiders
One of the more bitter rivalries in the NFL, these two teams having been battling against each other since 1960 for 105 meetings. With multiple Super Bowl Championships, and over 15 division titles, these two teams have established themselves as one of the premier matchups in the league and will only continue to build on that in the years to come.
Chiefs vs. Chargers
With an AFC Championship game matchup along with being division foes, the intensity level always seems to be at its highest when these two teams meet. This rivalry became more heated and the fans grew to hate each other more when Marty Schottenheimer became the head coach of the Chargers after previously leading the Chiefs for 10 seasons.
Chiefs vs. Broncos
This rivalry has been played over 100 times and dates back to the 1960s. The intensity level always seems to be at its highest when these two teams meet and has even carried over to the head coaches during their postgame handshake. With two matchups a year, this rivalry will only continue to get better.

Awesome experience First time ever to see a Chiefs game (very 1st was superbowl win when I was 8) and loooved every minute of it. 50 yard line 34 rows up! Ticket City worked out perfectly. Little nervous to use this ticketing route but never again will I doubt! October 2, 2014
home away from home I absolutely love going to arrowhead. Everyone is so pumped up and behind the chiefs and it's just a huge party with what feels like family. Going through ticket city was the icing on the cake. The person I spoke with helped me out when I was having issues with my card and made sure I got the seats with the group that I went with. He made it real easy and stress free to get my tickets. I will definitely go through them again. October 1, 2014
