Minnesota Vikings Tickets Information

The Minnesota Vikings were granted an expansion franchise in 1961, and after a few seasons near the bottom of the league, the Vikings became a powerhouse in the league. Minnesota won the franchise’s first of many division in 1968. The following season, the Vikings finished 12-2, romping through the NFL and knocking off the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl IV. Though that would be the team’s only Super Bowl victory, the Vikings would continue to be one of the most feared team in the NFL. Minnesota won the division 11 times in 13 seasons from 1968 through 1980, reaching the Super Bowl four times including the Super Bowl IV victory. After a few up and down seasons through the 1980s, the Vikings reached the playoffs seven times in the 1990s and again in 2000. Having made the playoffs three times in the last five years, Minnesota could be embarking on another long run of success. The Vikings have honored 20 former players and staffers in their Ring of Honor. For more information on the Vikings check out our Minnesota Vikings History page. 2015 Vikings Season Preview

The Vikings didn’t have a great season in 2013, but they’ve cleaned house of a lot of veterans and will be looking to reinvent themselves a bit this year. While Adrian Peterson will still have a lot of the offense run through him, the Vikings got their QB of the future in the draft by picking Teddy Bridgewater at the end of the first round. Bridgewater was once a Heisman frontrunner at Louisville and will likely take over the starting spot sometime in the season. His top target will be Cordarrelle Patterson, who had a solid rookie season for Minnesota in 2013. The Vikings defense also added LB Anthony Barr and DE Scott Crichton on the defensive side, as well as picking up Linval Joseph from the Giants in free agency. The Vikings secondary last season was truly bad, so they’ll need to get everything they can out of new CB Captain Munnerlyn as well as those left over from 2013. The Vikings will start the season in St. Louis before welcoming in the Patriots to Minneapolis for the home opener. Minnesota will also play key away games in New Orleans, Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit and home contests with the Packers and Panthers in November.

Minnesota Vikings Rivals

This rivalry continues to be close and after 100+ meetings that dates back to 1961, these two teams have transformed this rivalry to one of the best in the NFL. With both teams playing two times a year and often fighting for a division, the intensity of this rivalry only continues to get better. This rivalry went to a new level when Packers’ great quarterback Brett Favre came out of retirement to play for the hated Vikings.

This rivalry has been played over 100 times and has had its share of crazy moments. A last second field goal in 2007 that catapulted the Vikings to a victory happened after they blew a 14-point lead during the game. The Vikings tied the Bears in 2009 with less than 20 seconds left after rallying from an early deficit of 17 only to see them lose the game in overtime. This has been the norm in this rivalry that started in 1961 and only continues to grow with each close matchup.

Vikings in the Super Bowl, NFC Championship and NFL Playoffs

The Vikings have 3+ NFC Championships and over 15 division titles in their 50+ years of existence. With more than 10 Hall of Famers, the Vikings have established themselves as one of the more historical franchises. With 25+ playoff appearances and one of the few teams to have won 15+ games in the regular season, the Vikings will only continue to build off their impressive history.

Minnesota Vikings Event Guide

The gates open two hours prior to the start of the game.

What are some good places to eat before a Vikings game?

Grumpy’s Bar & Grill serves up great bar food (burgers, sandwiches, fries, tots) has a great beer selection and is just a short walk from the stadium. It’s a casual place to grab a beer and burger before the game. The Loop Bar & Restaurant is a short cab ride from the stadium but offers a cool atmosphere with the largest 360-degree bar in the Minneapolis. They have flat screens mounted everywhere so you won’t miss a moment of pregame. The Fulton beer battered chicken fingers and pull port quesadillas are awesome.

Where is the best to park for a Vikings game?

For non-parking pass holders, the a couple options are the daily lots on east bank (lot 94) and on the west bank at the state fairgrounds. A closer option but requires you get there a lot earlier is lot C79 located just south of the stadium (two blocks south of Washington Ave. next to the Oak Street Ramp) Rates vary but are around $10+ per car.

What is a unique experience at a Minnesota Vikings game?

Normally only available on a full season basis but finding Minnesota Vikings tickets is not out of the question, the Vikings Lounge opens 2 hours prior to kickoff and offers an all you can eat buffet and open bar, Viking playbook and game day magazine. There are flat screen TV’s all around and has a great view of the stadium. The lounge is limited to 150 members so it’s a hard ticket to find but an unforgettable experience.

Best Support Ever!!! I've bought sporting event tickets for twenty-five years and this was the first time I used Ticket City. Maggie was the gal who helped with my situation after I had placed my order. I ordered tickets on a Thursday afternoon for the Vikings vs Lions game on Sunday. After my order was placed I would receive my 3 tickets via FedEx on Friday. Friday passed and no tickets. I called Saturday morning and explained to Maggie that my tickets had not arrived. She checked and told me that my tickets were lost and she would check into it and then get back to me. I explained to her that I wouldn't be available until later that afternoon because of my job. Maggie told me that she would call, leave a message, and email me, which she did. After finishing my work related obligations I checked my email. She had left me a phone call and two emails. At first, my original tickets couldn't be emailed. So, she and Ticket City bought 3 other tickets, two rows back from my original seats. Then, I had another email saying that they were able to track down my original tickets and to just print them off. I then called and talked with Kyle. Kyle knew of my situation and that Maggie had be doing the leg work. After my conversation with Kyle, I deleted the second set of tickets, printed my original set, and my family had no problems going to the game. I couldn't go, we live 5 hours from Minneappolis/St. Paul, and they were driving from out of state. For people like me who purchase tickets from places on the internet the companies we go through are extremely helpful to get our business. But, once we purchase them and if there's a problem, they aren't so helpful. Well, in this day and age it's hard to get through if you have a problem, let alone talk to a real person. In my case, Ticket City, Kyle, and most of all Maggie were MVP's when it came to service. I wish I'd have ordered tickets through Ticket City sooner. But, rest assured I'll look to this company first and formost in the future. Again, thanks and great job. November 13, 2012
