2011 DALLAS COWBOYS PREVIEW:
The Dallas Cowboys’ 2010 season took a hit as big as the one that broke Tony Romo’s collar bone and ended his year. Enter Jon Kitna, and a 6-10 record and year away from the playoffs. Head coach Jason Garrett will be looking to turn things around in his first full year in charge, and he certainly has the personnel to make a return to bring America's Team back to the postseason.
Tony Romo has become one of the more reliable quarterbacks in the NFL, and he will be surrounded by a number of talented play makers this year. Although running back Marion Barber left the team, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice are both solid options. Romo also has a stable of excellent receivers including Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and tight end Jason Witten.
While the Cowboys offense sputtered at times in 2010, its defense usually played well and that should be the case once again this year. The strength of the Dallas defense lies in its linebacking corps, which is headlined by Demarcus Ware (who also plays defensive end) and Keith Brooking, who has emerged as the vocal leader of the defense. Veteran Terence Newman will lead the secondary, and Rob Ryan will coordinate the defense with the same tenacity as his brother has in coaching the New York Jets.
