The Green Bay Packers play football in the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL). Earl Lambeau and George Calhoun founded the franchise in 1919. Hall of Famer Vince Lombardi, who led the Packers to five league championships, coached the team in the 1960's. After Lombardi left the team in 1968, the Green Bay Packers would have little success until the arrival of Brett Favre in 1992. Favre has started every game for Green Bay since his first start, an NFL record of 257 consecutive games. Favre has made his team a perennial playoff fixture, leading them to a Super Bowl win in 1996. As his career seemed to fade, the Green Bay Packers struggled until this season, when Favre suddenly is playing like he did a decade ago. You couldn't write a more exciting sports story than what we see happening in the NFL this year in Green Bay!
