2011 NEW YORK GIANTS PREVIEW:
The New York Giants fell short of their goal last year, missing out on the playoffs despite a 10-6 record. With many of the same players back this year, the Giants will be facing a lot of pressure to return to the postseason in what will be a highly-competitive NFC East.

Eli Manning has led the Giants to a Super Bowl victory, but his inconsistency and at-times questionable judgment have made him subject to scrutiny. Still, he has a young and talented receiving corps headlined by Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham as well as tight end Travis Beckum. The backfield of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs has been effective in the past, and head coach Tom Coughlin will be looking for more of the same.

The defense has the pieces in place to dominate opposing teams, but whether or not it lives up to potential remains to be seen. The defensive line is led by second-year end Jason Pierre-Paul and Justin Tuck, both of whom can put substantial pressure on the quarterback. Linebackers Michael Boley and Jonathan Goff will have to step it up, but the secondary of Antrelle Rolle, Kenny Phillips and rookie Prince Amukamara will likely be solid.

The New York Giants play football in the East Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL). The Giants franchise is one of the oldest in the NFL. The team joined the NFL in 1925 along with five other teams, none of which still exist today. New Yorkers proudly refer to the Giants by a slew of nicknames, from the Football Giants to the G-Men and the Big Blue Wrecking Crew as well as the Jints. The Giants have 4 NFL Championships and 2 Super Bowls to their credit. Other than a drought in the late 1960s and '70s, the Giants have been a perennial playoff team, often making deep runs into the postseason. Some of the notable Giants alumni include Frank Gifford, Lawrence Taylor, Herschel Walker, Ike Hilliard, and Tiki Barber.

The New York Giants play their home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Giants share the stadium with the New York Jets. Completed in 2010 and holding over 80,000 fans, MetLife Stadium is one of the most modern in the NFL.

In a memorable moment in 2005, the New Orleans Saints played the Giants at their previous home, Giants Stadium, as the home team, as Hurricane Katrina damaged the original location of the game, the Superdome in New Orleans. Buy New York Giants tickets today and don't miss any of the action!
