2009 New York Giants Football Preview:
The New York Giants enter 2009 as once again one of the top teams in the NFL. The Giants will have a great shot at winning the tough NFC East and are a solid contender to win the entire NFC. Coach Tom Coughlin has an experienced team that is only one season removed from winning a Super Bowl title. Eli Manning returns to lead the offense that should be even better than 2008 if they can avoid the injury bug and find a replacement for troubled wide out Plaxico Burress. The NY Giants defense will be very good in 2009. The defense line is anchored by Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and new acquisition Chris Canty. Antonio Pierce leads the Giants linebacking crew and Aaron Ross is the class of the secondary. Trips to East Rutherford to face the Giants will not be easy for any team. Look for New York to make another run at the Super Bowl in 2009 and don't be surprised if they wind up with another ring.

The New York Giants play football in the East Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL). The Giants franchise is one of the oldest in the NFL. The team joined the NFL in 1925 along with five other teams, none of which still exist today. New Yorkers proudly refer to the Giants by a slew of nicknames, from the Football Giants to the G-Men and the Big Blue Wrecking Crew as well as the Jints. The Giants have 4 NFL Championships and 2 Super Bowls to their credit. Other than a drought in the late 1960s and '70s, the Giants have been a perennial playoff team, often making deep runs into the postseason. Some of the notable Giants alumni include Frank Gifford, Lawrence Taylor, Herschel Walker, Ike Hilliard, and Tiki Barber.
The New York Giants play their home games at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, often called the Meadowlands because of its inclusion in the sports complex with that name. The Giants share the stadium with the New York Jets. Holding over 80,000 fans, Giants Stadium is the second largest stadium in the NFL. In a memorable moment in 2005, the New Orleans Saints played the Giants at Giants Stadium but, because Hurricane Katrina damaged the original location of the game, the Superdome in New Orleans, the Saints played as the home team. Giants Stadium could be the birthplace of a New York dynasty this coming season. Buy New York Giants tickets today and don't miss any of the action!
