New York Giants Season Preview History

2010 New York Giants Football Preview:
After they got off to a 5-0 start last season, the New York Giants disappointed down the stretch and missed the postseason after finishing a mediocre 8-8. Fans will be expecting a quick turnaround, as much of the same team returns and they have the pieces in place to make a run at the playoffs.

Quarterback Eli Manning had a career year in 2009, with more than 4,000 yards passing and 27 touchdowns. However, he'll have to cut down on his interceptions this year. While Manning certainly has a stable of talented receivers around him including Steve Smith, Mario Manningham and Sinorice Moss, he is sorely missing a go-to number one target. Second-year man Hakeem Nicks has the skills to be just that, but it remains to be seen if he has the will. Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw will split the carries in the backfield, after a disappointing 2009 for both of them.

By any standards, the Giants defensive performance down the stretch last season was dreadful. In three of their last four games, opponents eclipsed the 40 point mark. New York has a revamped solid defensive line, highlighted be ends Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck, that should put significant pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The Giants secondary got abused last year, but the addition of Antrel Rolle at safety will help fill any holes.

2009 New York Giants Football Preview:
The New York Giants enter 2009 as once again one of the top teams in the NFL. The Giants will have a great shot at winning the tough NFC East and are a solid contender to win the entire NFC. Coach Tom Coughlin has an experienced team that is only one season removed from winning a Super Bowl title. Eli Manning returns to lead the offense that should be even better than 2008 if they can avoid the injury bug and find a replacement for troubled wide out Plaxico Burress. The NY Giants defense will be very good in 2009. The defense line is anchored by Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and new acquisition Chris Canty. Antonio Pierce leads the Giants linebacking crew and Aaron Ross is the class of the secondary. Trips to East Rutherford to face the Giants will not be easy for any team. Look for New York to make another run at the Super Bowl in 2009 and don't be surprised if they wind up with another ring.

2008 New York Giants Football Preview:
The New York Giants are one of the up and coming great football teams and one of the most exciting to watch in the NFL this season. After capable showing in the 2007 season, the Giants look to their franchise quarterback Eili Manning to lead them into a new era of success and hopefully back to a Super Bowl. Giants Stadium will be teeming with loud and tough New York fans this coming season to root for the best team in New York to make a big playoff run and keep improving.
