2011 Playoff Preview: Seattle Seahawks

It wasn’t pretty, but the Seattle Seahawks came out of the NFC West with a championship and playoff berth. Their biggest issue coming in to the post-season will be who will be their quarterback – Matt Hasselbeck or Charlie Whitehurst. It will come down to Hasselbeck’s health, and whether it’s good enough to overcome the inexperience of Whitehurst.
2010 Seattle Seahawks Football Preview:
The Seattle offense had difficulty running the ball last season, and averaged only 97.9 yards a game on the ground. Running backs Julius Jones and Justin Forsett are battling for the starting job but neither has yet made a strong statement in the preseason, and former Jet Leon Washington may be Carroll's preferred choice. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has been having trouble staying healthy as of late, so it would not be surprising to see Charlie Whitehurst get much of the playing time this year. Rookie receiver Golden Tate is expected to contribute immediately and provide the quarterback with a reliable target alongside T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
The defense needs work as well, but is returning a squad that ranked 30th in passing defense. It may be hard for Seattle to get increased production on this side of the ball, and they will rely heavily on the performance of middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu. The defensive line may be a question mark as well, with a lot of inexperience and lack of depth.
2009 Seattle Seahawks Football Preview:
The 2009 season of the Seattle Seahawks may well be defined by one man, new Head Coach Jim Mora. This is the first year since 1998 that Mike Holmgren will not be patrolling the sidelines as the Hawks coach. But Mora has been with the Seahawks and was groomed to take over the club, so he'll be ready to go in 2009. Matt Hasselbeck is back to lead the offense. Hasselbeck was injured for much of 2008, but with him healthy Seattle should be ready to start spreading the ball around the field again. The Seahawks have a big new weapon at wide receiver, TJ Houshmandzadeh, to pair with Deion Branch and Nate Burleson. On defense the Seahawks are led by Cory Redding, Patrick Kerney, Lofa Tatupu and Marcus Trufant. There is talent all over the Seattle lineup, so watch out for the Seahawks in 2009 as they will be one of the teams to beat in the NFC.
2008 Seattle Seahawks Football Preview:
The Seattle Seahawks are one of the top teams to watch in the NFC this season. The team was picked by many to reach the Super Bowl this year and has proven itself to be a perennial playoff contender, playing in the postseason every year since 2003. Led by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and running back Shaun Alexander, the Seattle Seahawks will provide a tough challenge for the Giants, Cowboys or Packers if they want to make it all the way this year. A game at Qwest Field this year will be one of the loudest games you've ever seen as Seattle Seahawks fans cheer their team on to another division title and a playoff run.
