2010 St. Louis Rams Football Preview:
The St. Louis Rams are a shell of the franchise that made it to the Super Bowl behind Kurt Warner earlier in the decade and may have bottomed out last season with a dismal 1-15 record. While they will likely improve their win total from 2009, the Rams have a lot of work to do before they are once again contending for a playoff berth.
Although St. Louis had one of the worst offenses in the league last season, running back Steven Jackson is one of the most productive players in the NFL. Jackson ran for more than 1,400 yards last year and was a lone bright spot of an otherwise forgettable season. Jackson is likely to be the focal point of the offense again, and will be joined by first overall pick quarterback Sam Bradford. Veteran A.J. Feeley may try to wrestle the job away from Bradford, but the former Oklahoma star is likely the starter.
The Rams defense could be a problem area as well, as they do not have much depth at any position. Defensive tackle Fred Robbins has 11 years of experience, but managed only two sacks last year. Middle linebacker James Laurinaitis is coming off a terrific rookie season where he recorded 120 tackles, so if there is going to be any success on the defensive end it, will start with him.
2009 St. Louis Rams Football Preview:
The St. Louis Rams are heading into 2009 with big improvements on their mind. Their offense will no longer have wide receiver Torry Holt, but still has QB Marc Bulger and RB Steven Jackson. Throw in a few other offensive weapons like; Donnie Avery, Brian Leonard and Joe Klopfenstein - and it is look out for the Rams. On defense St. Louis lines up some talented players that include Chris Long and Leonard Little on the defensive line. The Rams have been known as offensive juggernauts for the last decade, but this season they will have a salty defense as well.
2008 St. Louis Rams Football Preview:
The St. Louis Rams have fallen from grace in the past few seasons. After wowing the NFL world with the "Greatest Show on Turf", and one of the fastest and most explosive offenses in the league, the team has struggled through injury and management squabbles. Still led by a strong quarterback, it will be exciting to see how the Rams play this coming season and how free agency and draft picks might affect their season and success. The Edward Jones Dome will be deafening this year as fans urge the Rams on to rebuild themselves back to where they were at the turn of the century.
