The San Diego Chargers
Sunny San Diego is known for more than just its warm weather. The Chargers have brought a new meaning of winning to the city since debuting in 1960, making 17 playoff appearances in the National Football League. Originally established in Los Angeles, the team has become a successful franchise since moving further south in the Golden State.
Although San Diego captured one title in 1963, the team has won their division 15 times since then and finished on top of the American Football Conference in 1994. Today, the Chargers are notably a threat thanks to their high-powered offense and strong recruitment skills.
A number of individuals have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame since playing the Chargers, including Kellen Winslow, Ron Mix and Dan Fouts. The organization has retired two numbers throughout its history: 14 and 19. Fouts formally wore 14, while Lance Alworth sported 19.
The Chargers consecutively made the postseason in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Today, they play alongside the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos in the AFC West.
