The Anaheim Ducks joined the NHL as an expansion team before the 1993 season. The Ducks missed the playoffs the first three years of their existence before finally earning a postseason berth in year 4. Anaheim has reached the playoffs nine times over the years and they have won a division title twice. The Ducks have won two conference championships with the pinnacle of the franchise coming in the 2006-2007 season. Anaheim hoisted the Stanley Cup trophy at the end of the season after defeating the Ottawa Senators in five games. Defenseman Scott Niedermayer led the Ducks during the postseason and was named recipient of the Conn Smythe Memorial Trophy as the most valuable player of the postseason by scoring 11 points throughout the playoffs. 2014 Ducks Season Preview
The Anaheim Ducks had a great season in 2013. The Ducks compiled a 54-20 regular season record and finished with 116 points, which was the best in the Western Conference. In the NHL playoffs, the Anaheim Ducks came just a game short of beating the eventual Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings.
For 2014 the Ducks want to take that extra step and get passed their California rivals and make a run at the Stanley Cup. To achieve this, the Ducks have added veteran center Ryan Kessler to sure up their 2nd line. They also added Clayton Stoner to hopefully add some added muscle on defense which is always necessary late in the playoffs. Look for Ryan Getzlaf to continue to be one of the top centers in all of the NHL and for the Anaheim Ducks to press hard for the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs in 2014.

Ducks vs. Sharks
The Ducks came into the NHL in 1993, and it was a natural rivalry between northern and southern California almost right away. They two faced off in first round of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs, where the Ducks won in six games. The Sharks won Game 5 in OT to force it back to Anaheim, but the Ducks put them away in Game 6.
Anaheim Ducks in the Stanley Cup, Western Conference Championship, and NHL Playoffs
Ducks fans will remember one season above the others when it comes to the Stanley Cup Finals, and that 2006-07 campaign ended with a Stanley Cup Championship. Beating the Wild and Canucks early on in the playoffs, the Ducks faced off against the Red Wings in the Western Conference Finals. A six-game series win led to a Finals match up with the Senators, whom they dispensed in Game 5 to win the franchises one and only Stanley Cup.

Where are good places to eat before a Ducks game?
The Lazy Dog Café is only a short distance from Honda Center is one of the best American food restaurants in the area. Tutto is close to Honda Center, has great food, and an even better atmosphere. If you are looking for a higher end dining experience try Prime Cut Café & Wine bar, you will not be disappointed. Other great places in the area are Mascarpone’s, Green Tomato Grill, and Anepalco’s Café.

There are 5 large parking lots surrounding Honda Center. 3 of the 5 lots are on the eastern half of the arena and we recommend trying there first. The next largest lot is on the southwest corner of Honda Center and usually has spots available as well. Parking costs are usually between $20-$30 and it is best to get to the area early to ensure you find a spot close to the arena.

Children under the age of 2 will be allowed to enter Honda Center without a ticket and must sit on a parents lap for the duration of the game. It is best practice to bring proof of your child’s age with you to the gate to ensure they are allowed to enter.
Anaheim Ducks 1 1
Looking for Stanley's Cup Again! It's been a few years now since the Anaheim Ducks captured sports' greatest trophy. In those years the team has transformed itself from primarily a defensive juggernaut to a more exciting up tempo score-a-lot of goals kind of team. Teemu Selanne still shows off the wheels of a 24-year-old Finnish Flash, and combined with such skilled puck handlers as Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, and Bobby Ryan, the Ducks have a chance to lead the leauge in scoring next season. Everybody likes goals just as everybody likes to win. Well, the Ducks should be doing a lot of both next season. August 18, 2010
