Stanley Cup Championships: 6
As one of the "Original Six" NHL teams, the Bruins have an illustrious history of playoff hockey that Boston fans can hang their hats on. Since beginning play in 1924, the Bruins have made it to the postseason 65 times, captured 25 division titles and hung six Stanley Cup title banners from the rafters of the TD Garden.
The Bruins have had a number of Hall of Famers wear the black and gold over the years, such as Bobby Orr, Cam Neely, Eddie Shore, Brad Park, Phil Esposito and many more. The team enjoyed an unprecedented run of success in the late '60s and into the '70s and '80s when Bobby Orr and the Bruins were the kings of the hockey world.
The Bruins captured titles in 1970 and 1972 behind those enthralling Bobby Orr-led teams, but Bruins fans are far more enraptured with the most recent squad which captured the Stanley Cup in 2011. The strength of Tim Thomas in the net and the inspired play of Milan Lucic and Mark Recchi carried the Bruins to their sixth title.
