Columbus Blue Jackets Ticket Information

It hasn’t been an easy transition for the Columbus Blue Jackets since they entered the NHL as an expansion team in 2000. In the 10+ years as a franchise, the Blue Jackets have earned a playoff berth only once. This occurred during the 2008-2009 season when they won a franchise best 41 games. Columbus was swept by the Detroit Red Wings in the opening round of the playoffs. Rick Nash leads the organization in points, goals, and assists. Nash spent a decade skating for the Blue Jackets after being the 1st overall selection in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Nash also holds numerous other records for the organization to make him one of the more prominent players to skate for Columbus. Current Blue Jacket R. J. Umberger has quickly moved up the rankings in his short time with the franchise. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Columbus Blue Jackets hockey tickets.

2014 Blue Jackets Season Preview

The Blue Jackets had a great end to the season in 2013, but couldn’t close the big gap they left themselves and still missed the playoffs. This year, they’ll have Marian Gaborik for the entire season and hope to see goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky continue his stellar play behind goal. Nathan Horton was brought in to help on offense, and was a big get on the free agent market for the Blue Jackets. Columbus now has to battle the Penguins, Capitals and Rangers in the same division, so it won’t be easy, but another good year from Bobrovsky and anything can happen.

The Blue Jackets have big games against the Jets, Wild and Penguins in December, but will be on the road in Colorado for a game against the Avalanche on New Year’s Eve. Columbus will have a match up with the Capitals on Jan. 17, and then a three-game home stand against the Kings, Flyers and Sabres from Jan. 21 to Jan 25.

Columbus Blue Jackets Rivals

Blue Jackets vs. Red Wings

While the Blue Jackets might not be considered one of the Red Wings’ main rivals, there’s no doubt the Columbus fans and players don’t like that team up north. They play in the same division and Columbus tends to rack up the penalty minutes against Detroit, making it a fierce on-ice battle from the drop of the puck.
