Minnesota Wild Tickets Information

As one of the newer franchises in the NHL, the Minnesota Wild played their first game in the league at the start of the 2000-2001 season. The Wild missed the postseason in their first two seasons, but qualified for the playoffs in year 3 and advanced all the way to the conference finals before falling to the Anaheim Ducks in four games. Minnesota has made the playoffs four times over the years with the highlight coming during the 2007-2008 season when they won their first and only division title. The Wild won 44 games that season led by Marian Gaborik. The right winger finished the season with 83 points including 42 goals. Gaborik is also the franchise leader in goals and points while current Wild center Mikko Koivu leads the organization in assists. 2015 Wild Season Preview

The Minnesota Wild built off of their success in 2012, and turned out a great season in 2013. The Wild finished the year 43-27 and almost cracked 100 points. They then proceeded to upset the Central Division champion Colorado Avalanche in the quarterfinals and were an overtime goal away from taking the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks to 7 games in the NHL Western Conference semi-finals.

This has created lofty expectations for the Minnesota Wild coming into 2014. It is hard to consider the Wild a favorite in the stacked NHL Western Conference, but they definitely have the talent and now the experience to make a run for the Stanley Cup finals. The biggest acquisition for the Wild in the offseason was winger Thomas Vanek. Vanek should add extra scoring potential for a Wild team that just need a little more offensive firepower last season. Look for the Minnesota Wild’s young core of Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle, and Erik Haula to continue to improve, and for the Wild to be one of the toughest draws in the Western Conference for the 2014 NHL Season.

Minnesota Wild Rivals

Wild vs. Canucks

From broken noses to players being knocked on the ground while celebrating a hat trick, this matchup has seen it all. The fans even got in the act in 2003, when the Canucks faithful threw beer on the Wild coach after a Minnesota win. Five-game suspensions, ejections, high-sticking and bench-clearing brawls. If you’re in the house for a Wild-Canucks game, be prepared to see some fireworks as well.

Minnesota Wild in the Stanley Cup, Western Conference Championship, and NHL Playoffs

After years of jockeying for a franchise, an NHL team finally returned to the “State of Hockey” in the form of the Minnesota Wild in 2000. The Wild have played in exactly one Western Conference Final and made it to four NHL Playoffs.

Minnesota Wild Event Guide

What time do gates open prior to a Wild game?

Doors open 1-hour before the puck drops at Xcel Energy Center.

Where are good places to eat before a Wild game?

Some of the best food in all of Minnesota is within a few miles of Xcel Energy Center. Patrick McGovern’s Pub & Restaurant, and Great Waters Brewing Company are two great brewpubs. If you are looking for French food, try Meritage, you won’t be disappointed. Zamboni’s Pizza is usually packed with Wild fans and has unbelievable pizza and pasta options. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, try St. Paul Grill. St. Paul is on the higher end of the price scale but has a great atmosphere and an even better menu. For a more down to earth dining, try The Four Inns or Anita’s Café and Catering. Other great places in the area are Burger Moe’s, Cossetta, and Mickey’s Diner.

Where is the best place to park at Xcel Energy Center?

Immediate parking at Xcel Energy Center is scarce. The best option for parking is at the Saint Paul RiverCentre Parking Ramp located at Kellogg Blvd. and Exchange Street. This parking ramp usually fills up quickly so we highly recommend getting to the arena early. Another parking option is at the Kellogg Parking ramp on the north side of Kellogg Blvd. on the east side of Saint Paul RiverCentre. A great offsite parking option can be found at the Smith Avenue Transit Center at 145 Smith Avenue.

Does my child need a ticket to go to a Wild game?

Children under 2 years old do not require a ticket to enter Xcel Energy Center. We recommend bringing proof of your child’s age with you to the gate to ensure they are allowed to enter.
