MINNESOTA WILD POSTSEASON
After the departure of the North Stars in the early '90s, Minnesota waited with baited breath in anticipation of the NHL's next expansion team, and they were rewarded in 2000 with the Minnesota Wild. The Wild have made the playoffs three times in their history, won a division championship in 2008 and have all the signs of becoming a future contender.
Over the course of the Wild's history, they have not sent any team members to the Hall of Fame, but they have seen the rise of a number of young stars such as Marian Gaborik, Mikko Koivu and Niklas Backstrom.
One of the Wild's best seasons came during the 2002-2003 season when they would knock off the Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks on the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Wild showed their grit by becoming the first team in NHL history to overcome two 3-1 deficits in the playoffs. However, in the conference finals against the Anaheim Ducks, the Wild couldn't keep pace and fell in a sweep.
With a strong 3rd-place finish during the 2011 season, Wild fans have plenty to look forward to as they continue their drive to build a Stanley Cup contender.
