Florida Panthers 2009-2010 NHL Preview:
The expectations for the Florida Panthers are not high as they enter the 2009-2010 NHL season. The Panthers made a strong push last year, but ultimately finished just short of making the playoffs. Which was the 8th straight season that Florida missed the NHL playoffs. This year the Panthers will be looking to rebound and scrap their way into one of the eight spots in the Eastern Conference. Panthers Head Coach Bryan McCabe will led the charge for Florida on what should be an exciting season.

The Florida Panthers are one of hardest teams to predict in the NHL this season. Having seen little success since the mid 1990's, the team has been involved in two major trades in the last year that the Florida Panthers hope will turn around their fortunes. A home game at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise in front of one of the largest crowds in the league will be an exciting experience as the home fans hope to see the Florida Panthers' reposition themselves as a contender in the East.
The Florida Panthers play hockey in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team first played as an expansion team in Miami, Florida in 1993. The team had one of the most successful first seasons of any expansion team in history. In 1996 the Florida Panthers would even reach the Stanley Cup Finals as the #4 seed in the Eastern Conference, only to be swept by Colorado. The team has struggled since starting 17-0 the following season. The acquisition of Pavel Bure briefly infused some success for the team, and the Panthers also moved to the BankAtlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, but the team has since fallen in the standings. This could be the Florida Panthers' turnaround season.
The Florida Panthers play their home games at the BankAtlantic Center in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida suburb of Sunrise. For the best game experience, try the Eastern Financial District section of the arena. With incredible sightlines and service, it is the ultimate in hockey experiences.
