Philadelphia Flyers Season Preview History
Philadelphia Flyers 2010-2011 NHL Preview:
Although the Philadelphia Flyers sneaked into the playoffs on the last day of the season last year, they managed to get hot at the right time and found themselves in the Stanley Cup Finals. Philadelphia returns a lot of talent this year and fans can expect another title run.
Offensively, Philadelphia does not have one player to base their attack around, but they have plenty of viable scoring threats. The team's leading scorer from last year, Mike Richards, is returning and will be joined by Danny Briere and Jeff Carter on the attack. Additionally, Scott Hartnell and Daniel Carcillo will provide stability on the wings in the second and third line.
On defense, the Flyers should be solid as well. The back line will be anchored by veteran Chris Pronger, who is coming off of a year where he amassed a team-leading 45 assists. However, Pronger is not the only stalwart defensemen on the roster, as he will be joined by Braydon Coburn and Matt Carle. The team's only question mark may be in goal as Michael Leighton and Brian Boucher, who split time last season, are sometimes unreliable.
Philadelphia Flyers 2009-2010 NHL Preview:
Philadelphia Flyers fans should be looking forward to the 2009-2010 hockey season because their team once again looks like one of the best teams in the East. The Flyers are led by stars Chris Pronger and Mike Richards, which should help push Philly to a playoff berth in the Spring of 2010. Now the Flyers just have to figure out how to get past their in-state rivals and current NHL Champs, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
