Toronto Maple Leafs 2011-12 Season Preview:
One of Canada's most popular teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs, have been a dominating franchise in the National Hockey League since they were established in 1917. Although they haven't won a Stanley Cup since the 1966-67 season, the Leafs are expected to make a valiant effort when it comes to snagging a championship this coming year.
Toronto was one of the teams left out of the playoffs in the 2010-11 season, finishing in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. The Leafs have been restructuring their roster for the past few years, bringing in veterans and new talent alike in an effort to creating a winning team.
This year, Toronto is intent on not letting another opportunity to make it to the postseason slip by. The Leafs have a number of players that are expected to make a splash in the 2011-12 season, including Phil Kessel and Mike Brown. Head coach Ron Wilson also brings plenty of experience to the franchise, which has many young players that could use some guidance.
