Stanley Cup Championships: 1
The Anaheim Ducks began play in 1993 as an expansion team dubbed the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and have made a name for themselves as a team with a potent scoring attack and great goal tending. In their short history, the Ducks have made the playoffs eight times, made it to two Stanley Cup Finals and brought home a championship title in 2007.
The Ducks have enjoyed a group of stellar performers who have given the Ducks stellar playoff performances such as Paul Kariya, Scott Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne. The Ducks sent right winger Jari Kurri to the Hall of Fame and have built a solid foundation of winning over their short history.
The stars aligned in 2007 for the Anaheim Ducks with the arrival of defensive stalwart Chris Pronger who joined Scott Niedermayer on the back line. Along with the clutch shooting of Teemu Selanne and the steady play of goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the Ducks shocked the NHL by knocking off the Ottawa Senators to take the 2007 Stanley Cup title.
The Ducks have been a consistent force in the playoffs for years and they always seem to be in the thick of the postseason race in the Western Conference.
