C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum is an indoor multi-purpose athletic arena located on the campus of the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. The arena is primarily home to the University of Mississippi Rebels and Lady Rebels basketball teams. Opened in 1966, Tad Smith Coliseum is named for a letterman, coach, and athletic director at the university. The arena is often affectionately known as “the Tad Pad”. Visitors to the arena will be struck upon entering by the blue-clad vinyl and red Mississippi brick exterior and white dome.
The Tad Smith Coliseum has been an incredible home court for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs. Both squads have won more than 80% of their home games at Tad Smith since the arena opened. The Tad Smith Coliseum has been recently remodeled to include a new traditional-looking hardwood floor, blue upholstered seats, and new state of the art sound and video capabilities.
Visitors to Tad Smith Coliseum are in for treat as the Mississippi Rebels continue their incredible record at home and fans pack the 8,700 seat arena turning it into one of the loudest environments in college basketball.
