As home of the legendary Battle of the Alamo, San Antonio is one of the most historic cities in the United States. With Texan culture fully ingrained in every inch of the second-largest city in The Lone Star State, there is certainly no destination quite like this southern gem. San Antonio has also hosted the Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome since 1993, which often pits some of the best teams in college football against each other including Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Arizona.
Of course, there are numerous other things to do and see in San Antonio. The city is home to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which offers plenty in the way of thrills thanks to its numerous roller coasters, especially the legendary Poltergeist.
For those looking to take in some of the cultural offerings that San Antonio posses, look no further than the Majestic Theater. Built in 1929, this venue has one of the most recognizable marquees in the country, and taking in a show there is an experience in itself. The Aztec Theater is also a sight worth seeing, as it sits right on the San Antonio River.
Before anybody leaves the city, they should take a stroll down the iconic San Antonio River Walk. With beautiful scenery and shops aplenty, this stretch of road will have something to make everyone happy.
