Shrek finally moved from the big screen to the theatre stage, the hit movie is now a Broadway theatre production. Shrek The Musical opens on Broadway in November 2008. The theatre production will first have a limited run at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, then begin its Broadway run in late Fall 2008.
This musical comedy will be adapted from the Dreamworks movie about a lovable Ogre and his Donkey. In the movie the pair go on great adventures in search of love for Shrek. Shrek eventually marries Princess Fiona, after overcoming Lord Farquaad to win Fiona's heart. The movie Shrek won an Academy Award for Best Animated Film, so it's a safe bet that the Broadway version of Shrek will be in contention for many Tony Awards.
